Battery being drained by Cell Standby

I just noticed that on my Zenithink ZT280 C71 "Cell Standby" is draining a hefty chunk of battery power. Now I don't have a SIM Card or Dongle for this machine, I use it on WiFi only but when I look in Settings & Wireless I see that there's 3G >EVDO (unchecked) WCDMA (checked) and options to Save or Discard. Discard doesn't seem to do anything and I can't find any option for disabling. Any ideas on disabling Cell Standby?

This is a misreported stat. Since you don't have a cell chip cell standby is not draining your battery. You can just ignore it.

You're welcome. This freaks a lot of people out and is a common question. One of the biggest issues with Android starting out as a phone OS is that it gets some things wrong when it comes to tablets.
