Tablet 10.1 will not recharge

My tablet will not recharge..although I am using the port and cable sent with the Tablet..when I plug it in the wall the able becomes hot on both ends and the charger also. I tried to connect it to the PC with the same cable but nothing happens. It will not turn on. Can somebody give me a suggestion. The tablet is relatively new, about 6 months. Need help desesperately.

It is not unusual for the charging cable to become pretty warm during charging. More so if the tablet is low on charge.
