What kind of performance loss do tablets have when upgrading is screen size?

As an example. if we took the pipo m2 which is a 7" tablet and compared it to the pipo m3 which is a 10.1" tablet. They both have the same hardware apart form the screen size.
does this extra screen size drop performance significantly? My reasoning is is that the extra rendering space would put more strain on the processors. This is an issue when connecting a computer to a larger screen for example.

Really it has to do with resolution more than anything, although larger screens certainly are a bigger drain on batteries.

Resolutions are the only thing that would affect performance, other then the obvious battery drain.
