My sons tablet works fine, but for some reason even when it is charged to 100%, it turns of when showing around 75%. Even after doing a factory reset via the tablet software, ahve never managed to do it via the buttons..
I'm just wondering if hacking the tablet would improve the battery capacity as it lasts no longer than 15 20 mins at most.

Cycling the battery several times will often solve this problem. Try running the tablet until it shuts itself off automatically and then recharging it to full a few times.

That has been done a few times already. I guess I could try it a few more times though.

There are battery calibration apps in the market, requires rooted tablet.

Sent from my SPH-D710 using Android Phone

Ah, I have tried one of those battery calibration apps, but the Tablet is not rooted, so I may have to try that out after rooting. ;)
Anyone in particular I should use?

Thanks for the help so far, but it seems to a bit of a minefield out there in regards to rooting.
Am I right in thinking that there are different methods for different Tablets?
What would be the best way to root a Lenco 9701 Android 4.1?

You would have to google root for your tablet as I know nothing about that tablet.

It appears nobody has done a root on that model before. Ho hum.
I will have to wait and check again in a few months.

Ok, how about cloning???

I have another Lenco Tab, it's a 9702 but could I clone it to the 9701?

Still unable to find any instructions pertaining to rooting a Lenco 9701 Tablet.
Would I have better luck looking for a root for the particular chip that is installed? A Rockchip RK3066.

Ok, I bit the bullet and went ahead with this for the Rockchip RK3066....

How to Root Rokchip RK30xx Android Devices - Ngopdul.com

And according to the result the 9701 is now rooted.

:)

So what do I do now to reset the battery info please??

Please be aware that the file for SuperOneClick contains a couple of Trojan viruses. These were detected and successfully removed by AVG.
