Time on Status Bar?

I have searched and searched and didn't find who to.

How can I have time shown on the status bar while on an application, like lets say web browsing or using the Android Tablet Forum app?

It would be nice to be able to see time without the need to go to "Home"

There are apps that will do this, otherwise is it a one of those little features that once we are able to cook our own ROMs on this device we will be able to request.
