    Sanei N10 Quad Core review

Sanei have now made a quad-core android tablet and weíve been testing the first batch we have been sent all morning. The tablet is essentially the same as any other N10 in appearance; you can only really tell them apart by reading the box. We canít decide if this is a good thing or a bad thing, the N10 is not the best looking tablet on the market but then again at least itís no worse than the Deluxe for example.

Unfortunately though, this theme continues throughout our analysis of the N10 quad-core; Itís no worse, but considering it now has twice the power surely it should be better?

The ones we have been sent seem to be old models as the app compatibility is fairly poor, no Netflix or TV Catchup . Also, we seem to be having the battery problems mentioned on a couple of other forums where we get a 7% reading yet the tablet doesnít die despite us continuing to use it for another couple of hours. Also when we checked the little battery graph it was all over the place so the tablet has no idea what charge is remaining.

In summary it desperately needs some firmware upgrades to sort out these bugs. Itís a shame that having put a quad-core processor into one their tablets, Sanei didnít think to bring the tablets software at least in-line with its earlier models. Also, why have 3G and GPS disappeared?

You will notice the improved performance though, the animated backgrounds are really cool and games, media playback and web browsing are all really smooth. The only thing that managed to slow down our tablet was our office internet which is slow at the best of times. Our only complaints are having to now surf the net for some firmware that will solve the battery issues and improve the compatibility.

It feels like all of the focus was on the quad-core CPU and new GPU and everyone at Sanei forgot about the software. The only complaints weíve had with previous Sanei N10 models has been the slow performance, and now theyíve fixed that, so why have they gone backwards with the software? And why is there no GPS or SIM Card slot now? And why doesnít this tablet have the awesome HD resolution of the Deluxe (2160p)?

All the pieces for a perfect tablet are at Sanei, they just havenít put them all together yet.
