can u tell me why i need to flash 7042_boot and not only the 7042_update? i already made a dump of stock firmware. i just dont want to mess around with this tablet cause i did the livesuit thing earlier on another one and i had to exchange it cause of the reboots. thanks a lot for your work

The 7042_boot provides permanent root, and forces adb to su permanently. Coby has modified their boot.img to prevent permanent root. So I undo what Coby did.

nice.. and what rom is better? (less bugs) the one in "linux users" thread or this one? its possible to install apps on the microsd card? any of this roms use another tablet fingerprint to make our coby more compatible? thanks a lot

wow i flashed 7042_boot.zip from the cwm and im stuck on coby logo. what hapened? thanks

edit: installed the 7042_update.zip and hes alive again. uff

Hi,

On mi MID7042

Enter recovery by vol+, metallic button and power.

Choose apply update from external storage, chose the zip you provide, then error E:signature verification failed, installation aborted.
