Exclamation Rooting and Development for MID1045

Hi all, I've successfully rooted many android phones, but the MID1045 is the first tablet I've gotten. I'm looking to get some of the functionality of my rooted phones on my tablet (i.e. CWM, Google Apps, Superuser)

I've tried a few different methods to root the 1045 (SuperOneClick, DooM's, and the CobyADB utility) but the one that worked successfully for me was the Root With Recovery method by Bin4ry.

Since there isn't a dedicated thread for the MID1045, if anyone else knows of how to get Google Apps, CWM, the Play Store, and ROMs working on the MID1045, please share it here, as I'm a little lost. Thanks!

(p.s. Posted Stock sysdump in the Sticky thread)

Let me know how you flashed gapps to the device because I tried and it didn't work. I posted a stock recovery in the stickied development index thread, but its called root with recovery because that's the method used to root it.

Have you tried flashing a clockwork mod recovery or twrp? This is actually the first I hearing this device can be rooted.some other places I've checked said it bricks the device

The 1045 uses an Allwinner CPU, and therefore should be able to be rooted using the rooting utility in the sticky posts at the top of the forum. At this time however, there is no ClockworkMod recovery for the 1045, so it will be necessary to install the Google apps a different way. Using the 1042 ClockworkMod may not work since the screen resolution between the 1042 and 1045 is very different.

Please make system dumps and post them in the thread we have for the purpose.
I do not accept PMs asking for one-on-one tech support. Ask on the forums so everyone can benefit.

Q: Why does an App say it's not compatible on Google's Play Store?

A: The build.prop is faulty and files are missing from \system\etc\permissions. Download the file from here and install it.

Q: Why does Google Earth refuse to start on stock ROMs?
A: Google Earth expects to be able to pinpoint your location. Read this thread to fix things.

Yes make a complete backup before making any changes or you will regret it later on.

Due to the overwhelming PM's that I receive, I am unable to answer all the questions and many questions are duplicates so PLEASE post all questions on this forum so I may better help you and any others who are having the same issues.

No PM's regarding windows questions will be answered, I am a Linux Guy.

sense flashing gapps isnt really an option i found a different way that may work for installing the play store. i dont have my tablet yet as its on backorder but anyone who tries it let us know how it works. it looks like its meant for the kindle fire hd but is installed through an apk so it may work for us too. @shunova64 I see you tried to make a dump, your system dump is corrupt, you need to try again when you get a chance.

The Rooting Utility in the Sticky post was not successful, and the even the dump created by the utility was apparently corrupt. I don't have the tablet with me as of now but I'll use adb to create new dump ASAP. The tablet does have a stock recovery, which I was able to use to install superuser (as the Root with Restore utility installs SuperSU, which I don't like)

I'll create another system dump and then try the Kindle Fire method to get Google Play working. Thanks for all your help.
