(app shop) looking for somewhere to get some apps for my kids tablet

just purchased an ematic egl26bl for my kids. it has app shop on it but it wont let me set up an account. was looking online and found somewhere they said is has closed and to try another but every time i try it it tells me the apps are only for android devices, my tablet has android 4.0 on it. I also tried google playstore but its not compatible to my tablet either. any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Even if i had to load them off my laptop or something like that would be better than nothing

I could make several suggestions that would not solve the original problem but would help you get some apps. The best thing I can suggest is this thread here on the forum http://www.androidtablets.net/forum/...-appstore.html Though it comments on people outside the US it will apply to your situation as well.

1. Open the browser on the Ematic. Then go to Amazon.com. At Amazon.com download the Amazon Appstore. Amazon Appstore will load onto the Ematic Genesis 7 EGL26BL as I have done with my grandson's tablet. You will now have thousands of free apps available.

2. Go to 1Mobile.com. Load the app. You will now have about 200,000 apps at your finger tips.
