my foster son received a Zeki tablet from his gma today and he did not understand the patter lock so locked it up. Grandma won't give the reciept to us for fear we will get cash back (whatevs) so now we have no means of returning it. I will try if nothing else but I'd love to get it reset and the customer service guy from the phone number on the paperwork said to hold -volume button down then power til it shuts off then hold reset button down with pin. so I did and it didn't reset it. Anyone have anything else to try. He said to return it (not helping LOL)

The hardware reset you did bricks it more often than not. Tne only thing to do IS return it. If you get this problem again, do the software reset first, in Settings. Maybe you can tell the tech it was a gift and the gifter does not want to give you the receipt.
Yes, I bricked mine doing this. Learned the hard way.
