We have some leaked "nudies" of the TF300T, Asus' next Gen Eee Pad. Unfortunately there is no real info to go along with these pics... not even any rumors on specs. Of course, that won't keep us from speculating on the cool factor of this new product now will it?
What do you guys think will be under the hood of this one?

A new study from mobile app monitoring company, Crittercism, shares some startling statistics. Apparently, Apple's iOS crashes more often than Google's Android OS, and not just a little bit more, but "substantially more." According to their study, which tracked 23 different versions of iOS and 33 different versions of Android, the largest percentage of crashes occured on iOS 5.1. Here's a quote from the PhoneArena article with some stats:
For the top quartile of apps, Android apps crashed 0.15% of the time they launched, while iOS apps crashed 0.51% of the time. In the second quartile of apps, Android apps crashed 0.73% of the time versus the 1.47% of the time iOS apps crashed. For the third quartile of apps, Android apps crashed 2.97% of the time, while iOS apps crashed 3.66% of the time.
The article elaborates by sharing that "The best apps on Android crashed one third as much as the best iOS apps. The second best Android apps crashed half as much as the iOS as in the second quartile while the difference was less for the third quartile." This story is the opposite of what we saw when Apple and Microsoft used to battle for supremacy. Now it seems that Apple's chief competitor is actually a more stable product. The next time your Apple fanboy friends try to tell you that they like the iOS because it "just works", you can cite this study...

Do you believe in magic? I am not referring to the entertaining antics of illusionists like David Copperfield or David Blaine. No, I am talking about real transmutation effects that make the impossible possible. Well, if you didn't before, you might after checking out this cool new product. Of course, really, if you want to get philosophical, it's an easy argument to suggest that all "magic" could simply be the "mystical quality of advanced technology to the uninitiated." Imagine if someone from the middle ages saw an Android phone... they would likely want to burn the user at the stake for fear of its witchcraft.
Interestingly, in this age, technology advances so quickly that it is starting to become a lot harder to be impressed by anything new that comes out. It seems like everyday there is some new "nano-tech-this" or "shrinking micro-processor-that" which blows away the previous generation. Sometimes, though you can still be surprised by something that seems almost magical because it changes things so dramatically. This new product I am about to share with you, Liquipel, almost makes you believe in magic, or at least the seemingly magical nature of advanced technology.
Yahoo! and ABC News recently did a video article on this product called Liquipel. It's some kind of advanced chemical treating process that invisibly makes your smartphone impervious to water (unless you take it very deep where pressure would simply crack the device). What is so amazing about this process is that it still allows the phone to "breathe" so its internal components won't overheat. The video really speaks for itself. What do you guys think? Do we have a new "disruptive" tech that could change the way we use electronic devices? We've included a video demonstration from the company's website below, but the demonstration done on the Yahoo! video was even more impressive so don't forget to check it out.
We want to give a shout out to cirtbrethren, for posting about this product previously!

Here's an interesting read. Some folks at Phonearena decided to pit the Transformer Prime directly against Apple's iPad2. According to their detailed, four-page analysis, the Transformer Prime is a better product, by a noticeable margin.
According to their take on things, the Design aesthetics of the two were pretty much a tie. The display on the T-Prime was better. The interface and functionality were slightly better on the T-Prime. Surprisingly, they seemed to indicate that the Processor and Memory performance of both devices was about on par, despite the T-Prime's quad-core chip. It appeared they gave a slight edge to the iPad2 for connectivity, since it has 3G capability and the T-Prime does not; however, they were, of course, happy that the Prime supports Adobe Flash, while the iPad2 does not. The camera on the Transformer Price was noticeably superior, according to their perspective, and they gave the edge to the T-Prime for multimedia playback. The iPad2 won with battery performance, but their final conclusion obviously favored the Transformer Prime.
Of course, I doubt any of you guys will dispute or even find their results surprising.
They had quite a few pics and videos, so give them a look at the source link below.

A highly unusual and somewhat controversial statement was recently made by the developers of Angry Birds, and apparently, they are learning from the mistakes the music industry has made while fighting piracy. Rovio CEO Mikael Hed said during the Medim conference this week,
“We have some issues with piracy, not only in apps, but also especially in the consumer products. There is tons and tons of merchandise out there, especially in Asia, which is not officially licensed products. We could learn a lot from the music industry, and the rather terrible ways the music industry has tried to combat piracy. Piracy may not be a bad thing: it can get us more business at the end of the day."
Hed went on to explain that he believes it is futile to fight individual pirates in the courts except when Rovio feels the false products they are selling are harmful to the Angry Birds brand, or are ripping off its fans. He further elaborated, "We took something from the music industry, which was to stop treating the customers as users, and start treating them as fans. We do that today: we talk about how many fans we have. If we lose that fanbase, our business is done, but if we can grow that fanbase, our business will grow."
It's refreshing to see a developer take a more educated and out-of-the-box perspective on the issues of piracy. Instead of getting hostile and suing random individuals for piracy, which amounts to plugging up the damn with your finger, Rovio looks at the bigger picture and only gets involved if it threatens users of the game or harms the Angry Birds brand. It seems that they almost see minor sharing-style piracy as free advertising for their product, and instead try to develop relationships with their customer-base in order to instill loyalty. This enures that most people will be happy to pay for their product instead of keeping it for free. Perhaps the movie and music industry could stand to learn a thing or two from this perspective. Folks at the MPAA and the RIAA have to be squirming in their seats about now.
Share your point of view on this tangled subject.

On Monday Lenovo announced that their Thinkpad would receive Androids latest and greatest OS, aka Android 4.0, or as most would call it, Ice Cream Sandwich in Q2. Some features of ICS will not make it to the Tablet because of hardware compatibilities. Those features include both Android Beam and NFC payments because of the tablets lack of hardware support for NFC. The OS, which is designed for both smartphones and tablets, improves encryption layers for data and e-mail security. Users should expect the update to arrive as an OTA package, but no firm Q2 dates were given.
