  • Congratulations, sorry I missed you messages earlier. I hope everything is working O.K. When mine was done, I still had to do the stuff listed under "Market has limited visibility" to get the market to work properly.
That's correct, you can't just drag & drop the Image. You have to "burn" it. I used Win32diskimager to do that. If you use the xda-developers instructions:

Start with a clean/formatted SD card in your PC.
Go to Making an updated bootable ClockworkMod SD - xda-developers and follow new instructions 1-5.
The files referenced in step 2 and used in step 4 are attached at the very bottom of the post.
When step 5 completes, make a backup of your stock 1.2 nook. (You never know when it might come in handy.)
You now have a flashable CWM SD card and a backup of your system. Put the card back in your PC

Next, go to ManualNooter 4.5.6 (For Stock 1.2) - xda-developers and begin at "Let's get started".
Follow the instructions from there and your nook should be successfully Rooted.

Now there's a coincidence, I was just going to ask what you decided to do.
To answer your question, As soon as you create the bootable CWR SD card at the beginning of the ManualNooter process, back up your stock un-rooted 1.2 and maybe even copy the backup to your PC. Any time you want to revert to stock, all you have to do is put the CWR card into your Nook, boot it and restore. That was one of the reasons I liked that particular method of rooting. If something goes wrong, your Nook is never in danger.

P.S. I noticed that we were using PMs out of our 150 lifetime limit by communicating the way we were. From now on, lets try it this way. I guess this is kind of like writing on someone's wall in FaceBook.
