3G trouble

HELP!!!!! I have no clue how to get the 3G active and applications working!?!?
At 3G setup it asks for a NAME,DEVICE,PHONE NUMBER AND APN! It appears that the wifi works for the browser but you can not download any of the android aps...says not connected to network????? I am clueless....It wont let me set up an e-mail either but I can use browser and check my e-mail???

What version of Android are you using? 2.2 is NOT capable atm of direct 3G connection, I've just had to buy a pocket wifi, as 3G kept connecting/disconnecting till my Aust. Supplier advised wtg for further upgrade.

To Edit yr Access Point for APN:

There are only 4 things req'd

Name of yr ISP
APN
supplier name plus word service
MCC code for yr country
MNC Code
