A Newbie to Android

Hi, Iam new to android and just bought a ZT 180 V2.2. I have seen a lot of apps and tweaks that we can do to improve our experience with Android. For starters, any suggestions? Mainly bought my ZT 180 for internet mobility and media files. Oh i added a 32gb sdcard, how can I determine if its there and can I use that as the default storage drive so i dont use the native drive? Thanks Echotech
