    What does rooting do for this update? And how do I do this rooting safely?

    Rooting gives u administrative priviliges, u can move apps to SD, remove bloat ware, pretty much do anything u want. There's not really any safe way, any way u use there would be the chance of bricking ur device. U have to follow the directions EXACTLY and sometimes it doesn't work.
