Im currently writing my dissertation regarding android Malware and Googles permission system. I would be very grateful if you could participate in my research. It consists of a short questionnaire and a quiz where you can see how good you are at identifying malware via the permissions.

Seems to me that the Android permissions model encourages malware, just as the design of Microsoft OS/Office products encourages virus/hacker attacks.

For example, READ_PHONE_STATE includes so many permissions that many apps must request it, even though they need only one of the many permissions it provides. See my post here, and the reply from "Amy", basically apologizing for the Android permissions model:
