According to comScore the Android OS is now the leader in terms of OS on Smartphone devices in the United States. That is almost 1 out of every 3 smart phones, amazing considering that the platform was released in October 2008, and began 2010 with only 7% total of the market.

Again, according to comScore we now have an additional 350,000 Android devices per day being switch on with over 175 different models of phones and tablets.

Worldwide Symbian is still the leader in Smart device OS installs, but since Nokia has now killed that platform expect the Android dominance to grow, or at least until something better comes along...

This is good news. I love seeing open source/free software doing so well after so long of trying to gain public support.
