Okay. Here is the problem: I just got this android tablet. When i opened the video in the local disk, it played normally. No lag or stuck. So, i thought everything was fine until i inserted the thumb drive into the device, i tried to play the video in the thumb drive, cos thats the only way to transfer music, video files into the devices. Cos it dont have the usb like mp3 or mp4. So, when i inserted the thumb drive into the device, i played the video, and cant be played. What i meant was its lag and stuck, so i cant even watched any video in the devices except for the video in the local disk. So, i thought maybe the device couldnt read the video in the thumb drive, so i went to buy the SD card, to see if it works. And its still the same. The format of the video is all supported by the ipad, as in the description. I used avi, mkv, mp4 and rmvb, still cant be played. So, i googled about it and try to solve this problem. Some people said, must download the applications of the video player, it can play all kind of movies. So, i went to download it, and they are still the same and no changes at all. Then, i was thinking, maybe i should convert the format. I converted few movies and tried if it works, can be played but its lag sometimes, only 90% work. Dont tell me i have to convert all the videos and it takes me few hours to complete 1 video. Usually, for this kind of device, it can play all type of video formats. Not even one format can be played without conversion? At least have few formats la. That is acceptable but this not even one format can be played without conversion. I went to see the description of the video format, it supports so many formats, and when i played all the video, not even one can work properly. I had done so many ways to solve this problem, and i cant find the solutions. If anyone of you have the solutions for this, do let me know. Thank you so much.
Sounds like the read speed of the USB host and the SD card can't keep up with the video. If you want to play video from the SD or thumb drive you might have to convert it to a lower quality (lower bitrate) to prevent stuttering. Some tablets unfortunately have very poor read and write speeds for external drives and SD. As the video plays properly from the internal storage, it's not a problem with the player and video format.
Does your tablet have enough space to store files you had on external? Maybe it's just as what Pete_s said it's better play within internal storage rather than external.
