Google will just buy up some other patent and stick it to apple. That's all these big companies do no days.

It's probably worth noting that ZDNet is about as Apple fanboyish as you can get, and has been flogging the "Apple will force Android out of existence" line for some time now.

While some of their fanboyism can be ignored, there is cause for concern. If Apple can keep getting Android phones and tablets pulled from shelves in large parts of the world while the court cases drag on, the resulting FUD ("fear, uncertainty, and doubt") can keep Android from developing a strong presence in tablets, and might enable iOS to retake the lead in the smartphone market, for long enough to cement their dominant position permanently.

unfortunately when your company has just been named the most valuable over an oil company you can do what you want it seems... I saw several articles yesterday about Apple pulling Samsung Galaxy tabs from the EU and now others and then the impending court case in California to do the same in the US... this is a free market and it is because they are doing this that makes me want to buy an Andriod that much more... Steve Jobs better remember where he came from (nothing) because the american public can and will decide if Apple goes back there... if you can't gain leadership through imagination... then maybe you shouldn't be a leader to begin with...
