Application icons ending on top of each other in the ereader, games, etc groupings

I noticed that after the latest update my some of my application icons were removed from the ereader, games, social, etc groupings. Now, when I re-add them to the groupings they end up on top of other application icons. I try moving them. But, they just snap back over the other application icon. I tried clearing out the cache of all applications. But, that didn't fix the problem. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Before you add them back, long press the remaining icons so they shuffle into the open spots. You can then re add the icons removed by the update. It's annoying, but the only way.

I tried your suggestion. But, that didn't work. Is there a way to reset the groups to default?

I'm not really sure. Before I figured it out, I just deleted all of them and started over. Are you starting at the icon closest to the open spot? You have to go in order. The icon should just pop up and them slide over.
