Application not compatible with device

My Tablet uses Android 2.3. I have tried to download FaceBook for Android and Excel, however I always get the following message:-

"Your device is not compatible with this item".

I tried one solution to clear application Updates and Cache, but still get the same answer.

Is there anything else I can try?

How did you download the apps?
Try downloading through Google Play Shop (Android Market)

Try clearing the Market cache and Google services framework. You may also need to change the LCD Density depending on your device. One other thing is to try and remove the account on the tablet then try and download an app from the pc then add the account back to the tablet. Basically Google's store is buggy.

I have been trying to download through Google Play Shop.
I will probably visit the vendor's service center when I am next in Hong Kong and see what they can do. I am not an expert so have no idea how to change screen density as suggestedby J515OP.
