Last month, Asus introduced the entry-level Memo Pad ME172V tablet. Today, the Taiwanese manufacturer launched the same tablet in India. This device looks strikingly similar to the extremely popular Asus Google Nexus 7. However, the specs of Asus Memo Pad is not on a par with the Nexus 7. This tablet runs on the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) Operating System. It comes with 8 GB of internal storage and packs a MicroSD card slot for those who want to store movies, music and large eBooks.

Asus Memo Pad ME172V features a 7 inch display, sporting a resolution of 600 x 1024 pixels, Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS, 1 GHz single-core VIA WM8950 processor, Mali-400 GPU, 1 megapixel front-facing camera for video calls, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB internal memory, MicroSD card slot, 32 GB expandable memory, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, microUSB 2.0 and a 4270 mAh non-removable battery. This device measures 196.2 x 119.2 x 11.2 mm and weighs 370 grams.

Asus Memo Pad ME172V comes with a price tag of just Rs.9,999 (approx. $185). This device will compete with the Acer Iconia B1 and other entry-level Android tablets in the Indian market. The Acer Iconia B1 has a powerful dual-core processor, however the Asus Memo Pad comes with 1 GB of RAM and a better battery life.
