Once again, thank you Sir Cus for steering me in the direction I should go as to a case for my tablet. If "Santa" doesn't bring it this weekend, it WILL be ordered on the 26th. Really appreciate the review.

For users of the Targus leather folio meant for the HP Touchpad, a quick question please:

I ordered and received the same Targus Folio, but for the Ipad...the upper right corner is right above the power button, I am surprised you mention the corner not being in the way? plus with mine, my biggest beef (and it's pretty much a deal breaker): those pesky upper corners just won't stay in place! and once you close the folio, if you hold it upside down, the tablet could easily slide out of the folio straight on the floor....I've been trying to figure out a brilliant solution to force them to stay in place, but with that damn design, I don't see how it can be done...any comments and/or suggestions for current or future users? thanks! :)

I think your issue is that you ordered and received the case for the iPad and not the one recommended by Sir_Cus which is the one specifically designed for the HP Touchpad. According to a few on here it fits and works perfectly.

Thanks, but the upper right corner can only fit one way, which is, I assume, nicely fitted against the upper right corner of the tablet...if it's the case, then the power button is quite hard to reach...if you look at a picture, you'll see what i mean...thanks for your reply though!

I first ordered an iPad case from Amazon.com that was originally suggested as a 'match', but it was definitely NOT a good fit.

Like Sir_Cusfreak says, the Targus Leather Truss case for the HP Touchpad is a PERFECT fit. Once you slide the TC970 in under the leather corners the Power button is not obstructed and can be easily pressed without any part of the case being in the way.

If you're a Canadian like me, you can get the case for $14.99 direct from the Targus.com Canadian site - best price I've seen. Staples.ca has the same case listed for $19.97.
Here's the link:
Targus*|*THZ07202CA*–*Targus Truss Case for HP® TouchPad=

It lists as $39.99, but when you click 'Add To Cart' it comes up as $14.99!

For my American friends, buying it from Amazon.com seems to be the best price, for some reason it's still full price on the Targus US page ($59.99?!):
Targus Truss Case for HP® TouchPad | THZ07202US

Like Sir_Cusfreak pointed out in his review, you won't be disappointed.

As for the screen protector, I ordered this one from PosR.us (but haven't tried to put it on yet - I'll try when I have the chance to do it without distractions to avoid bubbles - haha):
Antiglare Antifingerprint Screen Protector for Le Pan TC 970 Tablet - PosR.us

I've also read that HP Touchpad screen protectors are a perfect fit as well, and even have a section cutout so not to obstruct the webcam.

Hope this helps!

Here is another one to try..... It has (2) 5-star reviews from Le Pan 970 owners. Could be promising for only $7.65 with free shipping... at least that is the price right now.

Amazon.com: Acase Premium Leather Slimline Carrying Case for Apple iPad and HP TouchPad (Black): Office Products

OK, here is the "official" review.....it fits perfectly, seems to be good quality but time will tell. Does not cover any buttons or ports, everything can be used while this case is attached. It seems like a great deal. If I did have to give it a negative it would be that it does not have a stand like the one that Sir_Cusfreak reviewed. At a 1/3 of the price it seems like a winner.

So to summarize...if you want one with a stand go for the Targus Truss...if that is not a necessity for you or if cost is a factor...this would likely be a great choice.

Thank you for your reply which helps a lot!. I found a great deal today and (re-)ordered a Targus leather Truss, but the one for the TouchPad this time (and i put the one i got for the Ipad for sale on Kijiji!)...they are both the exact same model and colors, except I understand that the Touchpad one should be of different dimensions to allow for a PERFECT fit with the LePan (that's what i am hoping for anyway, will shoot myself if i get the same exact one again!)... + I can't believe i paid the Ipad case 3X more than the Touchpad one!! (another reason to shoot myself here!) thanks again....and watch out for those stores who sell the Targus cases for cheap..once in the cart, often they have a 10$ handling fee + about 15$ for shipping....

Got mine at Computers Canada for a ridiculous price :

Targus Black Leather Truss for HP TouchPad

UPDATE : Received the Targus Truss for Touchpad today.... It is indeed a PERFECT FIT for the LePan! Plus it looks much better than the other i had for the Ipad.... (i didn't like the powder blue inside color. Thank you to everyone for their help and comments!

I picked up the Technocel Folio for iPad from Verizon for $5.29 shipped. It's OOS right now.
Set Your Location

It does grip the Le Pan well enough on the sides, but the corners are pretty loose. However, the tablet doesn't move or slide around so it seems okay. Definitely usable as-is. The iPad 1 was obviously a slightly bigger tablet.

It does close and latch perfectly, and stays shut with no problems.

One issue with latching shut, however, is it just latches with friction, so it tends to want to push the MicroSD door open as shown in this pic.

The solution is that I have to lift up a bit on the latch while closing it to get it to clear the edge of the MicroSD door. I suggested that clear tape over the door might help the latch slide over it, but my wife thought that would look bad.

When sitting on a flat surface, all the divots work to hold the tablet up.

Some people who have bought this for the HP Touchpad had tried heating up the tabs and bending them to fit - I tried this with a heat gun, and even with enough heat to make the material start to smell hot, it wasn't very bendy, so I don't know how people got it to bend unless they were willing to risk burning it (I backed off as soon as I could smell the material get hot). The tablet fits in it well enough and the price was right at ~$5 shipped, so no complaints! My wife loves it.

I have the Griffin Elan Passport. "for new ipad". I picked it up at walmart. I think it was about 30 bucks. It fits the Le Pan really well. Does not obstruct any buttons or ports. The elastic hold down on top left slightly hides the headphone jack but you can push it aside with no problem. Closes nicely and securely. Looks really nice . Does not convert to a stand but I really like it and would highly recommend it.

Gnat - I used a rubber mallet to bend the corner tabs in. It feels like they are metal and it worked....just be careful when hitting it, one of my corners scuffed the leather a little bit but it is not that noticeable.

Got the Targus case for the TC970 today as a gift from my son. It fits the 970 like a glove with absolutely no modification needed. Slipped in the 970 with no effort at all. All buttons, jacks and cable connections are in the open and easily accessible. One would think they had designed specifically for the Le Pan unit. VERY happy with everything about it, from the workmanship, various holders (corners and base) and the adjustablity of the thing. Can you tell I'm happy with it??? Would think REAL hard about this one.

The targus case is a winner for sure. We had purchased it from best around black friday for $14.99. I just wish there was one with a built in bluetooth keyboard that would also fit like a glove

The truss case is currently available on ebay.ca with free shipping for $19.99
It says the seller is in Richmond Hill.[

The listing was a buy it now, and they had 10 available..
When I checked out, it said... Staples.ca require immediate payment by paypal!..... SO.. though the store near me did not have the case, Staples is selling them online.

so I have one on the way for $22.59 including taxes...
The search I used was "hp targus touchpad"
