Bluetooth keyboard for my Ideapad A1_07

I have a Lenovo Ideapad A1_07 and recently purchased a Bluetooth (2.0/3.0) compatible keyboard. The A1 runs Android version 2.3.4 and I got the keyboard to "pair" with the A1. My question is, how do I get the A1 to use it? I go into a browser and when I type I get nothing. Help please!
