Bricked VTAB due to no power, and unable to charge?

Unfortunately, I'd left my tablet unplugged long enough that the battery drained to 3%. I got back from my business trip, and went to open it up and turn it on, to see the "Power is low. . . want to turn it off?" I tapped 'OK', and while it was shutting down it locked up and the little battery with the red level lit up. (instead of a picture of a full green battery, it's got a very small red level in a hollow battery)

Three hours of charging later, the low battery indicator is still there, and the tablet flashes from the Visio Screen "V" to the home buttons. Holding the power button and volume buttons doesn't do anything, even when I have the unit plugged in, and when it's unplugged.

Anyone else ever have this happen? Am I hosed?

UPDATE: After posting, I found another thread that suggested plugging the mini-USB into a computer, versus using a wall charger. I was able to boot up the tablet, and it's charging. . . slowly. Crisis may be averted. :)
