Broken Power button

I'm new to the forums and i was hoping that someone can help me. I have a Coby Kyros MID1024-4G android tablet but the power button snapped off(it was given to me like this). So i opened up the tablet and saw the broken power button inside, took it out and i've tried to put it back together but with no luck. I don't understand much about tablets so my question is this; how does the power button work? because i've put it back into where it belongs and press on it and does not make the enough pressure to touch the cable to turn on the tablet. I've pressed down on the cable and it'll turn on so i dont know if there's someone who has had this problem in any other tablet and was able to fix it.

Please let me know because im dying to start playing with my new toy

I'm pretty sure it's not fixable. The Kyros is a nice tablet when tweaked properly but once they break, that's it. Coby won't help and I don't think there are many replacement parts available. The only exception is the batter, which can be replaced fairly easily by anyone with basic soldering skills.
