I have the Haipad M8 1 GB running the latest firmware (1028). I have successfully 'rooted' it and it seems to be working normally and well.
I have acquired a C-Media USB sound adaptor and would really like to be able to use it with my tablet.
When I plug it in, the following gets added to 'dmesg':

+usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using vc088x-ohci and address 2
+PM: Adding info for usb:2-1
+PM: Adding info for usb:2-1:1.0
+PM: Adding info for usb:2-1:1.1
+PM: Adding info for usb:2-1:1.2
+PM: Adding info for usb:2-1:1.3
+PM: Adding info for hid:0003:0D8C:000C.0001
+PM: Adding info for No Bus:input5
+input: C-Media USB Headphone Set as /devices/platform/vc088x-ohci/usb2/2-1/2-1:1.3/input/input5
+PM: Adding info for No Bus:event5
+generic-usb 0003:0D8C:000C.0001: input: USB HID v1.00 Device [C-Media USB Headphone Set ] on usb-vc088x-ohci-1/input3
+PM: Adding info for No Bus:ep_83
+PM: Adding info for No Bus:ep_00

Additionally, the volume control buttons on the adaptor WORK - that is, they change the volume up and down on the tablet itself.

Though my knowledge of Linux is limited, my understanding of the above messages is that the tablet should be able to use the adaptor,
but I need to do something to change the sound device from the on-board speaker and microphone to this adaptor.
The fact that the volume control buttons work would indicate that the tablet has done more than just recognise a device plugged into the USB port.

Can anyone assist me?

Thanking you in advance.

Doesn't anyone have any suggestions to make?

All ideas would be most welcome.
