Calendar problem

The calendar app on my tablet keeps telling me that I have no calendars when I try to add a new event. I have tried to create new ccalendar but I don't see any option. Do any of you know how I can get a calendar so I can creat a new event? Thank you.

Some of the calendars are tied to google.
You would create your calender under your google account.

Are you using the built-in calendar that comes with Froyo/Gingerbread? If yes, you have to add a account, either an Exchange or Google acc (if you have GoogleServicesFramework installed correctly) AFAIK. If you just want to use a local calendar (ie no sync) then you will have to install and use another apk.
