can not connect to internet via usb modem on android 2.2

hi i have a huawei three usb modem model e160g gsdpa usb stick and i can not get it to instal the software and connect to the internet, all it does is when you pull it out it says storge device removed but i can not find it anywhere on the tablet? any ideas please realy struggling with this now been trying since xmas day and kids getting fedd up now, please also see my post later on connecting via wpa 2sk thanks all in advance
