Can not get Tablet M729B to connect to WiFi

Hello,

I just got a MID Google Android tablet Model M729B and I am trying to get it to connect to internet. It is finding the signal but when it goes to connect it looses the signal. The signal goes from Excellant to Poor. I'm not understanding it. Can anyone help me? The Owner's Manual does not help at all.

Whenever I have connectivity problems, I do the following:

1) Get as close to the router as reasonably possible
2) Try to connect without encryption. If your router can create a 2nd "network" or has a guest "network" use it. Deactivate the encryption and reactivate it after the test.
3) I rarely do this but you can try putting it in the DMZ (demilitarized Zone)

By watching the behavior you can narrow down the problem.

I am also having trouble connecting to my home router. After calling cable company, resetting modem AND router, they helped me create a code which will not work. I keep getting the message "authentication problem" Any ideas???
