can't sync contacts with exchange

I've instructed my Samsung galaxy tab 3 to synchronize with my corporate exchange account but it is not bringing in contacts (or calendar, but my focus is contacts)

I have it set up.the same way I have with my s4, and it works perfectly there

are there any special tricks to this on the tablet?
