Much appreciated. This has been pretty frustrating. Thank you. I'm guessing it will be a link to a site where I can download it correct?

I am downloading right now. What steps do I omit from your original post and which do I still do?

it's a zip, if it works correctly, you just place on sdcard, reboot into recovery install via recovery.

I put it on my sdcard and tried installing it. Again it showed a successful install, I rebooted and the black "on" screen just sat there. I gave it 5 minutes and nothing happened.

Anything else to try?

nope, you need to find another app to create the partitions, a Linux livecd would work, the partitions on the sdcard just aren't being built correctly, even cw recovery can't format them.

Alright, thanks. I'm in the process of downloading ubuntu right now. I have another question about rebooting to cm9 though...after doing all of this how do I reboot to cm9? Do I have to reinstall it from my sdcard?

Again, thank you for all of your help.

No you wont reinstall cm9 if it's installed on your tablet, all the script is going to do is flash the boot.img the boot.img tells the tablet where to boot from sdcard or tablet.

anyway here is my df so you can compare to yours.

Filesystem Size Used Available Use% Mounted on
tmpfs 407.1M 48.0K 407.1M 0% /dev

I will probably release a smaller version of cm10 for 8042, and one for 7042 that would be installable with out needing to use sdcard. It will be ported from slatedroid.

Well, after testing every single version of cm10 for allwinner I could find, My version in my opinion is the best for Coby 8042, I had hoped the one from slatedroid would be better as it uses the latest cm10 source.

Coby 8042 wifi is strong Covers about 1 acer of land, I can get wifi anywhere on my property.

Coby 7042 same problem exist though out all versions of cm10, poor wifi, basically unusable wifi, Covers about 15 feet from router.

I have tried all of them, No ideal which one would brick your tablet, I don't just blindly flash any rom. I modify all roms before I flash them, to make sure my tablets aren't damaged in anyway. I can modify and flash any allwinner rom on my tablets, not all roms are that great though.

After the holidays I might just dual boot the 7042 and put it up for sale on ebay. The winning bid of the tablet can choose to release the CM10 or not. That way I don't have to provide support for it as I wont be releasing it. I may also sell the 8042 as a dual boot unit as well.
