I have cm7 7.02 on boot disk so I was wondering once you boot up can you unmount the disk and still operate? I want to save to another disk if possible.

I haven't tried it but no. The OS is on the disk and uses a virtual SD card (a portion of the card designated as an SD card) so that apps and things that need an sd card still have a place they can use but really it is just another partition of the same disk. Unmounting will only unmount the virtual SD card.

This is the same concept behind formatting an SD card to 704MB to allow for the system partition to function correctly? (I'm talking on other tablets, I know this isn't the right place)
