Coby 7012 Screen response

I know it's not a capacitive touch screen. But is there any way to increase the touch sensitivity so I dont have to use the darn stylus or my fingernail? I just got this for my wife to goof around with and she HATES the stylus. Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance. Gonna try to Root this and see what I can get going on.
