Coby Kyros 8024 - USB Keyboard - how to get the tablet to recognize the keyboard?

I have purchased a case for my 8024 which has a keyboard in the case - however, I cannot get the tablet to recognize the keyboard. How do I get the tablet to recognise and allow me to use the external keyboard?

you get a case with a mini usb or standard usb? The problem is if the case comes with a mini usb it may not be OTG, which means it will not work. I don't even know if there is such a thing as mini to mini OTG adapter.

If it is a standard usb and you are using the OTG cable that come with the tablet it should just see it. I had one on my 1024 that had problems, but if I went into a text field and long pressed to change the input chose the standard android keyboard, the external popped upand work. Same going from standard to BetterKeyboard 8, it seemed switching the input let it find the external.
