Hi All,
this is my first post on this forum. Before to post my issue, I have tried to look for, but I am not been able to have a clear way to do what I want.
The problem: I would like to connect an Onda MT833 dongle to Coby MID8042 tablet.
Some points about my issue.

  • I have rooted the tablet.
  • In my tablet Settings->Wireless & Networks->More I haven't the option "Mobile Networks". I have seen that should be a way to enable this option modifying the INIT.SMDKV210.RC file but this file is not present into my Android tablet. Is there any another way?
  • I have found this file into my tablet: /etc/3g_dongle.cfg. Why is there this file? What is it?
  • In my dongle memory there is a tar file to install it into linux system. Could it be useful for the purpose?
So, can anybody explain me (if possible step-by-step) how I can achieve the goal.

Thanks in advance for any help.
Stefano

I have seen that this thread has been viewed by a lot of users, so I suppose that this is an interesting subject, so I wonder, does nobody have any advice or knowledge to share? :)
