Also when connected to a different one, the wifi sometimes says it is connected when it is not. I am not within warenty so I am wondering if I can expect an update soon.

Loooking at the last error msgs it talks about /mnt/private/ULI but i dont even have anything in the private directory.
I even did:
busybox mount -o remount,rw /mnt/private......nothing is their...would someone mind sending me their /mnt/private directory to me?...This is annoying the hell out of me.

I know this is not the case but here is what coby said.

"Solution:

Improve your wireless network.
If the tablet does not find your wireless signal, it probably means that your connection isn't as fast or as reliable as it could be. Worse, you might lose your connection entirely in some parts of your home. If you want to boost the signal for your wireless network (WLAN), try extending your wireless range and improving your wireless network speed and performance.

Change your wireless channel to ""CHANNEL 1""
Wireless routers can broadcast on several different channels, similar to the way radio stations use different channels. In the United States and Canada, these channels are 1, 6, and 11. Just as you'll sometimes hear interference on one radio station while another is perfectly clear, sometimes one wireless channel is clearer than others. Try changing your wireless router's channel through your router's configuration page to see if your signal strength improves. You don't need to change your computer's configuration, because it can automatically detect the new channel.

To find your router configuration page, read the documentation that came with your router, or visit the manufacturer's webpage.
If your wireless connecting was setup by your internet provider, contact the internet provider.

Anyone else with these issues?

Occasionally after coming out of sleep or after reading a long web page the tablet will be slow to bring up wifi. One way to test the symtoms was to load tunein radio, and stream a station. When I did this, I never had the problem.

there are issues with certain routers and certain wifi channels. I don't think that is unique to coby.

I've encountered the lag in the WiFi waking up after turning on both my 9742 and my Dell Streak, so it's definitely not limited to Coby. With the 9742 I've never had the WiFi crash, but can't say that about the Dell Streak. In the case of the Streak though, it's the custom ROM (CyanogenMod 7) I'm using. There's a bug in the WiFi driver that is worked around by placing the Streak into Airplane Mode for a moment. Airplane Mode resets the WiFi, which is why it works.

While this seems to be software, there could be a hardware component to the problem. Coby had sufficient room in the 9742 that they could do one thing that cannot be done on the Streak: place the WiFi antenna away from the motherboard. Moving the antenna could resolve reception problems by reducing the amount of interference the antenna receives.
