Coby MID7012 Calendar

I just recently bought the 7012 on impulse and am completely new to the android game. I managed to install the Market but now I want to set up my Calendar. The problem is that the app keeps telling me that I have no calendars. How do I go about fixing that?

Built-in calendar needs an exchange or google acc for syncing.

If you don't want or don't need syncing, you will need another app (stock one sucks anyway).

How do you do a sync? I've already signed up my google account onto my tablet via the market and Gmail app, but the Calendar app still won't budge.

Btw, what are some better calendar apps?
