Coby MID7127 no Contacts or Calendar

I really like the behavior of the 7127, but I have two huge problems that prevent it being fully functional. When I try to add an event to the provided Calendar app or from the Android market's (Touch Calendar) I get "You have no Calendars". However, I do have a Gmail Calendar. Though I don't see how the Touch Calendar would know about it. When I try to use the provided email app (set up to my Gmail account) I can send and receive mail without an issue. However, I haven't found any way to get my curent contacts from gmail. I'm surviving using the browser and Gmail's mobile mail interface, but I would like to get it working with the better apps from the market place.

I have rooted the device (following the excellent directions http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxyW...tasks left hanging would be much appreciated,

I bought 2 MID7125's for my son's. I only had one microSD card. I found that I could not get root to mount using esFileExplorer (settings) on the one without a card. Once I got a card for it, it mounted. You could also get Rom Toolbox and that has a root explorer built-in.

I am also in the process of trying to get contacts and calendar to sync.
