Coby Tablet Problems... Need Fix

So I purchased a Coby MID8048-4 tablet. It runs on the Ice Cream system but it does not have google play. Is there anyway to get google play on this tablet or perhaps "root" the tablet as I have heard people say? Please help!!!

I think, and I might be wrong here. As far as I know, you will need a Google account. Once you have that, it should download to your tablet.
