Theoretically - yes. There is no built in microphone, but the hardware does have bluetooth, it's just not enabled in the software and there are people working hard to try to make it work. if they can get BT to work, the possibilities open wide up.

Wifi would be nice, could it use the gizmo5 tricks that are now google voice.

It's Android, it could probably do any of the calling tricks out there, we just don't have a mic.... thus the BT hurdle.

Not really, iirc the earphone port on the NC does NOT contain the required mic layer. If you look at the plug for a set of stereo headphones there are two sections, and a set of headphones/mic commonly used with pc's and game systems have a three section plug. NC has the two variant - aka, stereo only.

Well as stated, if we somehow manage to get the bluetooth operational, your audio would go through there along with voice recording, etc.

Absolutely, and that is what we are all hoping for...but it is just a game of sit and wait

Bluetooth has been already worked out [over XDA], but it is not stable. We might want to wait little, then all happiness would be ours :)

there are two problems - the first one can be solved with SIP or gizmo5 (gives it a phone number and make calls out), the second and harder problem is how do you get your voice into the app - as faceman said, the only way right now is through activating the already included bluetooth

Wifi would be nice, could it use the gizmo5 tricks that are now google voice.
