Leeb, fire this into your tablet and see if it works.

Not sure I want to!
Just got the new touchscreen on... running as well as possible.

Guess now is the perfect time to screw it up again! :p

Edit: Okay... this is an image. Do I burn it to SD or try to IUW it into place somewhere?

While we're on the subject...
Do these things have a 'serial console' access like the 8505 netbooks do? Direct access to U-Boot's internal functions? Might be helpful for my storage-cleaning problem...

This is just recovery image. May be burned with iuw as recvrd or with boot sdcard via "android" folder. As usual generally.

No there is access to the u-boot commands. But some storage formatting is possible.

Well, I did the SD card thing... which supposedly put the recovery_rd on the pad...
When I ask it to DO a recovery tho... it comes up saying
No recovery is found, try recover from SD.
When I renamed it to zSYS.img and loaded it up, recovery says
In vaid file system, check your zSYS.img.

Either way,

Now....
It doesnt come up. (Didnt after 1st try either)

Oh Joy!
I get to start ALL OVER AGAIN.... again.
Like, how did I KNOW this would happen?

Time to see how many loads it takes to get it to run again!
:D

EDIT:
Well, at least it took the 2-part install the 1st time! NOW I gotta reload all the stuff! :(

You need to hold the 3 keys for nearly a minute. You aren't holding the keys long enough. It will go through 2 screens before it gets to recovery.

OMG. Why you do that????

Which hwid and bootloader? Current fw?

Why?
because most of the recovery images are NAMED zSYS.img... and at that point it couldnt hurt.
0.6.1.5(587)
The rest is sitting in at least 3 places here somewhere & Im currently restoring.

zSYS.img is not recovery. This is full system image in ".ius" for restore placed on raw nand partition.

Ok. Just burn recovery_rd.img with iuw from field "recvrd". My image is "recovery" from message "No recovery is found, try recover from SD."

Okay... apparently we're arguing semantics now...
zSYS is a FULL SYSTEM IMAGE that THIS machine apparently uses to do a FULL SYSTEM RECOVERY when I press the <back><home>+<vol> at the proper point.
YOUR file is some 'recovery' method that is accessed.... how? and when?

I dont understand the difference, and Im STILL working to 'recover' the system I HAD before I attempted this...
(Tho its almost done!)
IF it provides functionality that would be USEFUL TO ME in my attempt to make it work better, I am all for it!
But, right now, I dont see it...
(Cause it wont load... d'oh!)

When I get home (from work) I WILL attempt to do it b/w/o IUW... then we'll see...:D

What do you want from me? If you do not need it. Anyway. clockworkmod recovery - YouTube

I dont mean to sound ungrateful or (insert appropriate word here)....
It was suggested that I attempt this and I did... and Im rebuilding because of it.

In spite of that, thx are in order... and here they come!
Once I get home, I will consider trying again and report back.

Peace!

I believe it's volume - ,back and power. Keep holding until you see the penguin and let go (as soon as you see the penguin).

Well.... no go.
Reloaded by SD (unit no longer starts up),
Rebooted with VOL+BK+PWR,
Waited 5secs,
Released after Tux,
and now it has sat here 5 mins w/o going anywhere...

Gonna try another reboot 2c if it will at least start up again.
Doubt it.

Enough to hold "home" before the appearance penguin. But if recovery image not burned we get "No recovery is found, try recover from SD.". Or something ... but errors.

OK... will try that.

EDIT:
How long should it take?
If I hold <HOME> it stops at the INFOTMIC logo and goes nowhere...

???
