Hello dazza5, welcome to the forum. Nice of you to become a member of Android Tablets. Sorry to hear you're having problems getting the WiFi to connect. After trying each of the following, see if it's working. If not try the next thing.
Turn off the tablet and the router for 30 seconds or so and then turn the router back on and turn the tablet back on about 30 seconds after that.
If you're hiding your SSID for security, change the settings to show the SSID.
Change the channel your router is transmitting on to a channel number less than 11.
Change your security from WPA or WPA2 to WEP.
If it's still not working, hope that someone else replies because I'm all out of ideas.
