Deleting Duplicate Icons on Acer

Hi all! I received an Iconia A500 Tab for Christmas and started playing around with it and somehow put some books on the desktop, then I copied them. Looking for a way to delete them, does anyone have a suggestion?

Long press on the icon and a garbage can will appear. Drag the icon to the garbage can and drop it in.
