Hello all, I can safely say this tablet is modifiable.

First of all check your S/N on the back:
D201208xxxxxx: You can first use cwr: http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...d-biglots-how-backup-install-cw-recovery.html then flash cm9: http://www.androidtablets.net/forum/allwinner-a10-based/49263-cm9-d2pad.html and gapps from that link.

D201209xxxxxx: You can first flash cwr: http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...d-biglots-how-backup-install-cw-recovery.html then flash either dRom: http://www.androidtablets.net/forum/allwinner-a10-based/48524-drom.html or cm9+gapps: http://www.androidtablets.net/forum/allwinner-a10-based/49263-cm9-d2pad.html and my compatability zip: CM_d209-compat.zip

For network location on stock: http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...oogle-maps-my-location-work-diablotek-d2.html

Please leave feedback and I'll try to respond.

Hello.

For the life of me I cant get recovery installed on my D2 pad. I couldn't get ADB to work correctly. So I tried the Copy files method posted here http://www.androidtablets.net/forum/allwinner-a10-based/49263-cm9-d2pad.html by vampirefo

evidently it didn't work because the tablet rebooted and sat at the blue android guy... never got past it even after 30 to 45mins so I ran the update from the d2 site to set everything back to default.

Is there an easy way to get recovery installed on the device. Once that is there I know where im at... I've got CM9 and 10 on other devices and can navigate through the recovery ok.. getting there is the hard part for me... maybe im missing something.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Update - nevermind.. had to manually force the driver install.. Sometimes I overlook the smallest things. ADB installed and recover as well.. Thanks!

Heheh - I think the models after D201209B are all the same. I've got a D201210B - screwed it up accidently, and since there was no firmware available on the D2pad.info site, I tried the 09 firmware. Works just fine. The only problem I have had is that the 09 CWM recovery cannot mount anything but /cache, so backup/restore and custom roms are so far out of my reach.

You just saved mine. I had a D201208 and got a new one. I didn't realize the new one was a D201210. I was able to use myfishbear's backup so I have the original content, however, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get it all back onto the device!

I've looked on the back of my own unit, and noticed that it has the designation D201301BL01221, which I can only assume is the s/n. Are the ROMs currently posted that are supposed to work with D201208/09xxxxxx models also compatible with the D2013 units too?
