It isn't necessarily the difference in the tablets as it is the difference in country. There certainly are a few tablets that don't natively have the market available but very few. Some countries can install as much from the Market , (now Play Store) as others. If you have a tabet that has a very old version of Android that also could be a problem.

Unless I misunderstood you question.

If I understand your concern correctly, the Chinese tablet would need to have a world wide or US version of the firmware. If it can't be changed you will be very limited at best.

any tablet can use the market, the trick is rooting the tablet, and adding approved market signatures to your tablet, so the market thinks your tablet is supported.

how that is done depends on tablet itself, I do it for Coby tablets which have no market support, i use my HTC evo3d signature on them.

ask the seller can the tablet be rooted and to tell you how or post the exact name and model of tablet and use google.

so it should support US?

That would be best. Assuming you are in the US. For instance, if in many countries Google Music isn't available and that's just for starters. That doesn't mean it won't work if you do the setup while in the US. Nothing is simple. ;)

If in the US you could just spring for a major manufacturer's well supported tablet like from ASUS, Acer, Toshiba and others.

When discussing a problem with my 7042 with a Coby customer support rep, I was informed that Coby had not signed up for any Google services. I noticed the "loacation services" and Google Play were not available (time zone, weather, etc.). Perhaps this has something to do with how Google earns money to pay their employees?

My tablet came with Android Market v3.3.12, and works fine.
If I install Google Play v3.5.x, it can't download apps (I can even search and leave app comments/reviews).
Do I just need to change some configuration file, or do I need a modified version of the v3.5.x vending apk?
