Does rooting and deleting bloat improve performance for you?

I was thinking about rooting, so I can to delete the apps I don't want and install a backup app. But, I'm curious, do y'all notice a performance boost from deleting all the bloatware? Or is it the same as just disabling them without rooting?

Besides being able to run backup apps like Titanium, what other apps do neat stuff that require root?
Is there any point to rooting and not going further? Or is it only worth it to install another ROM?

Just curious :).

I think the tablet will boot faster. I'm not sure why, but it seems to take longer to boot with more apps, regardless of whether they load on boot or not. Of course, once you start loading your own apps, that difference will be negligible.
