External Speaker Playing With Headset Connected

This has happened in the past, but usually on the off chance it does, when I take the headset out, and replug it in, only the headphones play. However now, despite replugging it in several times with more than one set of headphones, both headphones AND speakers play when music is playing.

This is really upsetting me as one of the few things I use this thing for is music to keep me going at work, and now it won't work like it should. I don't know if it was last night's update, or if the thing is simply broken.

Does anyone else have this issue? Is Acer doing anything about it?

Try Stopping your music before switching from speakers to headset.
Try rebooting your tablet.

Unlike the old transistor radio days, modern sound chips do not automatically cut off the speakers with a physical switch.
Plugging or unplugging simply signals the sound system to select different output pins leading to different speakers.
Sometimes this gets confused, or that part of the sound system crashes and refuses to make the switch.
