Kind of how I felt... i think at this point I will hold out for Android 2.2 or maybe even Gingerbread if the smarter folks keep at the pace their going.

CyanogenMod 7 is in the works for nook color. It is Gingerbread, I have ran it on my Droid and it is pretty cool. It has a theme chooser. Also someone made a Honeycomb Rom today, but It is probably not stable yet.

CM7 would be cool, I am running CM6.1 on my G1 and have been pretty happy with his work.
