If it works, I am not going to sweat it. The Acer Liquid E seems to do okay running CM7 with 2.6.29 as well.

Not in a rush to try this until we get basic things working like wifi...

I had been accessing the forums from my S7, which unfortunately doesn't have flash. In dolphin HD browser, the video/link did not show up.

Now that I'm at home, I can see it.

Sorry about that. I browse the forums here using the App for it. When you use the app it also includes a message, "Sent from the X device." I only assumed you were on a PC due to this =P

Ok, now there is a new working (at least under the old userland), 2.6.38 kernel (yes i did jump forward from stock 2.6.36 for gingerbread but what the hell, why not ).
When rictec finally comes on and chucks me his new userland code, i'll write an extremely DEV only img of course, as long as the new kernel doesn't flip out with the gingerbread userland.

please dont expect too much its just boot you can see some gingerbread things DO A NANDROID BACKUP BEFOURE to revert back.

Use Clockworkmod recovery.

On my S7-104 has started after a few attempts.None of the memory card mounted.
Any way this is a very good start.
